SysOps Engineer

Reports to the Manager of
the Sys/Net Ops team at Boart Longyear.

This Cloud Engineer / Developer role will deal
with and support a myriad of systems (both Windows and Linux/Unix) as well as
the Oracle E-Business Suite with its’ related technologies and applications. A
successful candidate will be proficient in developing and supporting
enhancements to internal applications and systems with their related
integrations.

A successful candidate should be able to work
with functional business analysts, business process owners, DBA’s, and other
technical team members.

The right candidate will be a knowledgeable systems
manager, developer, and DBA with Public cloud experience, having been involved
with supporting cloud large business applications and creating cloud migration
strategies.

Candidates should be familiar with Software
Development Life cycles, latest trends in cloud technologies, database
administration, and all things Systems related.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop,
    test, load, and document customized functionality within the R12 Oracle E-Business
    Suite environment

  • Provide
    support to all departments in researching issues, such as reporting
    issues, data load issues, etc.

  • Proactively
    research and locate tools and processes to identify trends

  • Develop
    Custom Reports, Interfaces Conversions, Extensions, and Work Flows (RICEWF
    or CEMLI) for R12 Oracle Applications

  • Backup data
    warehouse administration in conducting periodic system reviews to ensure efficiency

  • Anticipate
    user requirements and develop programs, queries, reports, etc. to assist
    as needed

  • Participate
    in all phases of the software development life cycle including technical
    analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and deployment

  • Act as DBA
    backup to Oracle and other systems

  • Assure
    Windows/Linux system availability by assuring system stability

  • Patch,
    maintain, and fix systems as needed

  • Provide business
    units with tech guidance on systems operation, upgrades, testing, etc.

  • Provide
    backup support for job execution and ETL processing

  • Ensure
    adequate training and support documentation is correct and available

  • Develop
    technical documentation in a clear and concise manner

  • Ensure
    compliance with IT Policies and Procedures

Minimum
Qualifications:


  • University
    degree in Computer Science or Business Administration required; OR, an
    equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to
    successfully perform the essential duties of the job

  • 5+ years of
    successful systems administration and/or development experience

  • 3+ years
    working with or supporting any of the following functional areas (Supply
    Chain (SCM), Procurement, Financials, Order Management (OM), Projects (Costing
    & Budgeting), Manufacturing, Human Resources, etc.

  • 3+ years
    public cloud engagement & services – AWS / Azure / etc.

  • Solid analytical
    and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent
    technical knowledge of multiple programming disciplines and systems
    administration

  • Excellent
    technical knowledge of both UNIX/LINUX

  • Hands-On
    experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, Workflow, Shell scripting,
    XML/BI Publisher, Forms Builder, Reports Builder, Designer, JDeveloper, OA
    Framework (OAF/Java), Forms Personalization, Framework Personalization

  • Strong
    skills for teamwork and interdepartmental communications

  • Expertise
    working with all parties including staff, customers, and vendors to
    resolve problems

  • Proven
    ability to complete multiple tasks independently

Technical
Skills Needed:


  • Extensive
    writing advanced SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers and
    scripts

  • Experience utilizing
    UNIX scripts and CRON

  • Demonstrated
    knowledge of advanced techniques and principles in object oriented programming
    languages, such as SQL, PL/SQL and Java

  • Proven
    knowledge development techniques

  • Advanced
    experience with systems management and operations

  • Demonstrated
    ability to work with sensitive/confidential information and to handle such
    information

  • Experience
    in application systems analysis and design

  • Experience
    programming in various development tools including, but not limited to
    HTML, PERL, SQL., and Java

  • Proven
    knowledge of high-level architecture design, development and support in DB
    design, data modeling, schema and report structures

  • Experience
    supporting and troubleshooting ETL processes

  • Experience
    integrating business applications with various formats including flat-file
    (CSV) and XML

Desired:


  • Broad
    working knowledge of core technical areas of the business and accompanying
    functional modules of Oracle R11 and/or R12 E-Business Suite modules (GL,
    AP, AR, FA, OM, INV, PO, HRMS, OTL, WIP, etc.)

  • Hands-On
    experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, Workflow, Shell scripting,
    XML/BI Publisher, Forms Builder, Reports Builder, Designer, JDeveloper, OA
    Framework (OAF/Java), Forms Personalization, Framework Personalization

  • Proven
    knowledge of Oracle AIM and OUM methodologies

  • Proven
    XML/BI Publisher customization experience in complex formats

  • Solid IaaS,
    PaaS experience in either AWS or Azure
