1. Indonesia, Thailand and Laos

In the tropical rain forests of Southeast Asia, Boart Longyear employees encounter a diversity of wildlife and conditions. Temperatures, particularly in the higher altitudes, can at times be very cold and wet.
Here, Boart Longyear drills for copper and gold via several drilling technologies, including surface coring, rotary and fly coring (Indonesia). We fly our workers in and out of camp or provide them with the necessary transportation. Camp accommodations and food are also provided.

2. Australia and New Zealand

From the hot, arid deserts of Australia to the colder climate of New Zealand, Boart Longyear offers a comprehensive diversity of job opportunities for those with the right attitude.

To begin with, Boart Longyear extracts a wide range of minerals and resources, including water, iron ore, nickel, gold, zinc, diamonds, manganese, copper, coal and coal seam gas, lead, and silver. Drilling technologies include surface coring, sonic, rotary, reverse circulation, underground and mine water services. Some residential work is available. For camps, we fly workers in and out and provide accommodations and meals.

Compensation and benefits are highly competitive. Competency Assessments for Driller Assistant 1 and 2 and Driller 1, 2 and 3 are Australian Drilling Industry Training Committee (ADITC) accredited and cover specific drilling sector requirements, including those for reverse circulation and diamond coring. 3. Africa

In Africa, the conditions can be either rainy or dry, depending on the season or the region. Tropical rain forests are found in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, while deserts prevail in Eritrea. Iron, gold, copper and cobalt are mined via sonic, surface coring and reverse circulation technologies of drilling.

For our workers, we provide fly-in and fly-out support, vehicles or compensation for public transportation. Accommodations include camps, guest homes or hotels, depending on the location.

4. Russia, Central Asia and Kazakhstan

Conditions in this broad service region range from the extreme cold in Russia to desert-like conditions in Kazakhstan. Here, employees of Boart Longyear drill for gold, copper and coal using a variety of drilling technologies, including rotary, surface coring, sonic and mine water services.

Employees are flown to and from camp, given a company vehicle or given compensation for public transportation. For those who live in camps or hotels, meals are provided. Residential workers are responsible for their meals.

5. Mexico

In Mexico, Boart Longyear drills extensively for gold using surface coring and sonic drilling technologies. Weather conditions are warm to hot all year long, with Boart Longyear – accommodating employees with meals, vehicles, motels and/or rental houses. Busing to and from drilling locations is also provided.

6. United States

For employees of Boart Longyear, working in the United States can mean anything from hot, arid deserts to cold, alpine mountains. In these regions, we drill for gold, copper, silver, limestone, coal, oil, borax, uranium, molybdenum, lead, zinc and provide mine water services. Our drilling technologies, equally diverse, include underground coring, sonic, mine water services, reverse circulation, surface coring and percussive.

To get to worksites, employees may rely on fly-in/fly-out (including helicopter) support, company-provided vehicles or personal vehicles, depending on the job. Accommodations are usually small-town hotels. Some meals are provided, but food from home may be required.

Accommodations range from mining camps to hotels, with meals provided either by Boart Longyear or clients. 8. Canada

Conditions in Canada range from moderate to extreme cold, depending on region and season. Employees may even meet an occasional bear, wolf or moose. Here, using underground coring, sonic, reverse circulation, surface coring or percussive drilling methods, Boart Longyear drills for gold, nickel, phosphate, uranium, copper, oil sands, potash, coal, silver and other precious metals and also offers mine water services.

Transportation includes fly-in/fly-out (including helicopter), company vehicles and/or personal vehicles. Accommodations typically are small-town motels near the mines.
