The Boart Longyear Supply Chain department is seeking a new Inventory Manager in our corporate office in West Valley City, Utah. This position will report to the Global Director of Supply Chain and will evaluate and monitor inventory stock levels for products in all areas of the supply chain. The Inventory Manager will plan inventory levels to ensure that we balance financial investments with customer satisfaction. This individual will work directly with Sales, Drilling services, and logistics teams to ensure continuous flow of goods through the whole network.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 year management experience preferred with 5 years being inventory and planning related
  • Proven experience and relevant work experience in a complex Supply Chain
  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Knowledge of MRP planning and supply chain optimization
  • Strong proven hands-on experience with inventory/production planning
  • Leadership capabilities in order to manage a planning team (possibly remotely located)
  • Experience in mining or related industry
  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
  • Improvement and project focused
  • Organized and accurate
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • General MS Office
  • ERP / Oracle

Major responsibilities include:

  • P&L accountability includes working capital for finished goods inventory across the globe, including internal warehouses, consignments, work in process, and forward stocking location inventories.
  • Tracking actual results to budgeted goals
  • Obtaining budget goals will be a key component of this position
  • Managing stock to fulfill both internal and external customer demand
  • Planning reorder points to ensure availability of supply with a minimum waste will be a key measure of success
  • Coordinating between regional functional groups – Sales, Inventory & Operations (SIOP planning) to translate Customer expectations and historical data into reliable forecasts and accurate inventory planning
