An opportunity has now become available for an experienced Environment, Health, Safety and Training (EHS&T) Advisor to join our team in Western Australia. This is a FIFO field based role that partners with operational leaders to manage EHS risk in the workplace, through implementation of our EHS&T management systems and programs. In addition, you will be working on various sites across WA, so your successful relationship with our customers is crucial in delivering a strong EHS&T culture in the field.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • EHS
    • Partner with operational leaders to drive the right activity and behaviours needed to achieve Boart Longyear EHST goals
    • Influence, coach and provide direction to operational leaders to ensure EHST outcomes and agreed business objectives are achieved
    • Collaborate with the EHST team members to develop and deliver agreed objectives and outcomes
    • Live and actively demonstrate the Boart Longyear Culture and Values
    • Demonstrate a cross business culture of ‘One Team’, delivering the best outcome for Boart Longyear and providing excellent functional support service
    • Foster ongoing positive relationships with all stakeholders, and manage the relationship and interface with key business, functions and clients to optimise benefits to the Company
    • Conduct deep dives on EHS data to analyse EHST information and identify/implement risk reduction opportunities for continuous improvement
    • Promote and utilise available technologies to improve EHST systems and processes
  • Training
    • Provide coaching and guidance on the management of EHST training requirements and standards within Boart Longyear
    • Deliver a strategic approach to the management of traineeships and training requirements of supervisors, drillers, driller’s assistants and other field staff
    • Identify employee training gaps, through a Training Needs Analysis (TNA), developing training plans and ensuring completion of required training in a timely manner

What you will bring to the business:

  • 5 years relevant work experience in Drilling Operations, Training or EHS.
  • Tertiary education in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent
  • Experience in working across the resource industry & related sectors
  • Experience in working in remote locations and at site level on a regular or FIFO basis
  • A proven ability to organise and manage competing demands and priorities
