Boart Longyear’s SLC Shared Services accounting team is looking for a self-motivated, well organized, analytical individual to assist in the Fixed Asset, Landing cost and GL close process. The individual should possess strong communication skills, the ability to work with cross-functional teams, and be eager to contribute to the success of the department and the company. The fixed asset/Costing accountant will work with the shared service team to help analyze and improve system changes within the accounting department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 2+ years minimum experience in Fixed Asset Accounting required
  • Experience using Oracle software required
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, v-lookups and experience with managing large sets of data
  • Global Fixed Asset experience preferred – we can train
  • Experience in Inventory Costing preferred – we can train
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a strong plus


  • Support accounting by preparing journal entries, providing guidance to divisions, reconciling accounts and providing reporting and analysis as needed
  • Open and close fixed asset module
  • Provide information to tax department necessary to file HHV tax
  • Run and reconcile depreciation schedules in Oracle
  • Track capital expenditures for our North and South America regions
  • Assist and liaise with auditors (both internal and external)
  • Coordinate and assist in half-year and annual reporting requirements
  • Support other corporate departments as it relates to accounting inquiries
  • Daily LAM countries landing cost
  • Monthly Landing cost correction
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Other responsibilities as needed
