Job Responsibilities:
Coordinates activities of staff employees. Guides, manages, and directs the activities of subordinates and functions of assigned area. Analyzes and organizes area operations and procedures. Monitors and evaluates area production. Revises or creates procedures to improve efficiency of workflow. Establishes uniform correspondence procedures and style practices. Formulates procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer and disposal of records. Plans office layouts and initiates cost reduction programs. Reviews clerical and personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. Prepares activity reports for guidance of management using computer or other automated office equipment. Prepares employee performance evaluations. May prepare area budget and monthly financial reports. Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising staff. May compile, store and retrieve managerial data.

The Global Inventory Manager evaluates and monitors inventory stock levels for products in all areas of the supply chain. The Global Inventory Manager will plan inventory levels to ensure that we balance financial investments with customer satisfaction. This individual will work directly with Sales, Drilling Services, and Logistics teams to ensure continuous flow of goods through the whole network.

P&L accountability includes working capital for finished goods inventory across the Globe. This will include internal warehouses, consignments, work in process, and forward stocking location inventories. Tracking actual results to budgeted goals. Obtaining budget goals will be a key component of this position.

Stock level controls – A key component of this role will be managing stock to fulfill both internal and external customer demand. Planning reorder points to ensure availability of supply with minimum waste will be a key measure of success.

A key element of this role is coordinating between regional functional groups; ‘Sales, Inventory & Operations’ (SIOP planning); to translate Customer expectations and historical data into reliable forecasts and accurate inventory planning.

The Global Inventory Manager will work closely with the sales team, finance team, product support group, and Boart Longyear factories to strive for an optimal balance between inventory on hand and financial investment for inventory. The operational/tactical input will be translated into ERP/MRP system settings, ensuring a structured, system driven approach to manage replenishment activities for finished goods warehouses and consignment stocks, while analyzing future demand to determine the Global inventory strategy.

Education and Experience:

  • 10 year management experience preferred with 5 years being inventory and planning related
  • Proven experience and relevant work experience in a complex Supply Chain
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of MRP planning and supply chain optimization
  • Strong, proven hands-on experience with inventory/production planning
  • Leadership capabilities in order to manage a planning team (possibly remotely located)
  • Experience in mining or related industry is preferred
