Boart Longyear Commercial Manager - US/Mexico in Salt Lake City, Utah

Job Description:

Boart Longyear is currently hiring for a Commercial Manager in Salt Lake City, UT. This role leads and supports the selling of contracts to a group of customers in the United States region. The role maintains contract and proposal files for the region and handles contractual issues of a complex nature. During this role you will also monitor program performance; maintain compliance with contract terms and conditions as well as track established contracts with regard to schedules, deliverables and closeout.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure contract proposals with customers are in accordance with the division’s policy for bidding.

  • Oversee the sufficient selling effort with customers to achieve budget forecast of sales and profit.

  • Direct planning: approve personnel and methods to be employed on contracts under their direction.

  • Make regular, periodic appraisal of performance and results of contracts measuring variance from bid performance and taking necessary corrective action.

  • Exercise cost control by familiarization of expenses incurred when mobilizing, warehousing, and purchasing for contracts under their jurisdiction.

  • Regularly visit field operations to ensure that contracts are being efficiently executed to the customer’s satisfaction. Ensure that the division’s standards of safe working practices, good housekeeping and profitability are being maintained.

  • Familiarize yourself with the division’s safety incentive program and continuously indoctrinate supervision and operating personnel in safe practices.

  • Continuous business improvement.

  • Ensure invoices and billing is complete and accurate.

  • Preform audit checks.

  • Prepare financial budget and forecast information on regular basis.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting or business management.

  • 10+ yrs. demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, finance, operations, and or drilling.

  • Financial forecasting

  • Effective project management.

  • Superior management and influencing skills.

  • Sound business planning.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Works collaboratively across the organization.

  • Effective time and priority management.
