DOT Compliance Manager
Boart Longyear is hiring for a new DOT Compliance Manager to work in our corporate offices in Salt Lake City, UT. This position will work with multiple teams to ensure DOT compliance collaborating with US fleet management and operational leaders, as well as coordinating projects and activities with internal groups and external suppliers.
The ideal candidate brings two to 5+ years of hands-on DOT experience with a desire to broaden these skills and be an energetic team contributor. DOT compliance, assisting with the development of corrective strategies, the creation and distribution of auditing schedules and communications materials and coordinating customer-facing events will all be part of the exciting responsibilities.
Develop and design the global structure and plan for fleet related auditable items and compliance.
Establish a small network of compliance focused fleet leaders who participate in renewal of local requirements.
Provide an assurance role related to the design and training of field personnel to ensure they comply with local obligations and reporting.
Develop and maintain internal pipeline compliance auditing program.
Provide guidance to field personnel in sound auditing practices.
Manage program/system implementation required to demonstrate the US based DOT procedures meet regulatory requirements per 49 CFR 192 & 195.
Stay current with changes to global fleet related legislation wherever we operate.
Assist with development & maintenance of ongoing internal audit system for fleet.
Work closely with internal audit resources as well as regional fleet teams.
Oversee external auditing
Compose responses for auditing issues
Establish and maintain relationships with auditing agencies
Develop interpretations of pipeline regulations for Targa
Monitor and suggest improvements to processes and systems that drive pipeline compliance
Manage operations & maintenance manuals
Manage sour gas plans
Other duties as necessary
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated skills, knowledge or experience in DOT and EHS regulations
Ability to communicate with many different departments and third party vendors (Operations, Engineering, Compliance, EHS, Legal, etc.)
Strong project coordination skill-set.
Research skills and ability to analyze and consolidate information.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
