Job Description:

Boart Longyear is growing and looking for a new Global Mobility Specialist to add to our HR team. The Global Mobility Specialist, together with the Director of Global Mobility, is responsible for the management, coordination, administration and compliance of all immigration and relocation assignments. The Global Mobility Specialist develops, implements, and manages global immigration and relocation policies and processes and provides service delivery to Boart Longyear assignees around the world.

This Global Mobility Specialist will be responsible for providing a total mobility service to business managers and HR business partners globally to help them manage their mobility needs while supporting assignees throughout the life cycle of an assignment.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Manage immigration and relocation processes (international and domestic)

  • Educate stakeholders on immigration matters

  • Advising management and HR business partners on policy applicability

  • Counseling assignees on the international assignment, immigration, and tax equalization policies

  • Resolving assignee issues and managing policy exceptions

  • Analyzing and reporting on assignment activity to HR

  • Preparation and review of cost projections and assignment approvals for senior management

  • Preparation and review of assignment letters

  • Coordinating with overseas counterparts on assignment set-up, payroll and ongoing issues

  • Developing relationships and liaising with external service companies for the international relocation, tax, social security and immigration services

  • Managing and updating housing and other allowances

International assignees range from newly recruited employees to senior executives of the Company and can be across all business groups.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • Ability and desire to gain comprehensive understanding of international assignment management

  • Ability and desire to gain comprehensive understanding of social security, tax, and immigration legislation in applicable countries.

  • Experience managing vendors

  • Strong commitment to client service and the ability to service demanding clientele in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to form relationships with key stake holders.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional analytical skills.

  • Flexibility to manage deadlines and changing circumstances and priorities

  • Strong commitment to client service and an empathy with individuals undergoing a significant change to their lifestyle.
