Boart Longyear is seeking a new Human Resources Business Partner for its Haileybury office in Ontario, Canada. As the HRBP, you will participate in Recruitment and Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, Performance Development, Organizational Effectiveness, and Culture.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or related field.
Minimum of 3+ years related HR experience including support in field operations, construction (highly mobile and transient workforce).
Recruiting experience with demonstrated track record of filling multiple roles in a fast-paced environment
Strong working knowledge of Canadian labor law
Proven experience prioritizing and managing multiple assignments concurrently, performing well under pressure, and meeting deadlines, while ensuring acute attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
Excellent communication skills — written and verbal (both French and English would be considered an asset)
Comfortable with MS Office tools
Experience with Oracle software a strong plus but not required
Requires approximately 25% travel (which includes travel to job sites in remote locations)
Plan human resource requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers
Lead staffing requirements of the business. Develop strategy to source, hire and train key talent is a key component of this position.
Develop and implement processes, policies and procedures.
Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs
Build and maintain operational metrics for headcount, attrition, labor costs, overtime analysis, and other projects, as required
Manage and coordinate annual Performance and Compensation processes
Conduct workplace investigations
Partner with management regarding all matters of compliance and disciplinary actions
Oversee, interpret, and administer company policies, workplace procedures and affirmative government regulations
Other duties as required
