This is a full-time role and hours of work will be 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

Duties and responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping track of Inventory for manufacturing. This includes overseeing material flow at both ends of the supply chain (raw material through to finished goods).

  • Creation and management of spreadsheets to track goods, stock levels, re-order points etc.

  • Entering work orders

  • Raising and managing purchase orders to ensure timely supply of products

  • Working with shipping and receiving staff to maintain awareness of goods flow

  • Management of warehouse stock levels

  • Providing support to Materials Manager in relation to stock takes

  • Promote and adhere to EHS policies and procedures

  • Developing and implementing inventory control systems and practices to ensure accuracy in count, location and transactions.

  • Coordinating the logistics of purchase orders, inventory transfers and WO completions.

  • Tracking orders to prevent overstocking and stock out situations through monitoring ROP and inventory transfer to DC’s.

  • Cycle count for regular stock checks

  • Coordinate the company wide Physical Inventory count twice a year

  • Maintain inventory records

  • Review Receiving Value Report, WIP transaction report and other QlikView inventory transaction reports to maintain accuracy in inventory counts

  • Travel to off-site locations to maintain inventory accuracy

  • Schedule Assembly production by consolidating the components required for assembly

  • Work with stockroom team to implement inventory control good practices. Continuously improve on the improvement opportunities identified through Tier Meetings.

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of directly related experience

  • Experience in warehousing, logistics or similar.

  • Knowledge of inventory management software and Oracle material transactions

  • Understanding of ABC analysis, stock level calculations and inventory management practices

  • Exposure to lean and JIT principles would be an asset to be a part of Boart Culture of Continuous Improvement

  • Good computer literacy, Excel proficiency with strong data Entry skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Capability to implement improvements and initiatives

  • Driver’s license desired

Reporting Relationship

The position reports directly to the Materials Supervisor in North Bay.
