Job Description:

Boart Longyear is seeking a Global Procurement Specialist who will play a key role in overall function of the supply chain, along with metrics, supplier development, and leadership opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement and supply chain experience (CPSM/CPM preferred)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (preferred)

  • Commodity management experience (Metallic products preferred)

  • Experience in industry with manufacturing and engineered products

Job Responsibilities:

The Global Procurement Specialist (sourcing/buyer/planner) is responsible for commodity and supplier management from initial sourcing through delivery. This involves the process of selecting vendors, negotiation of contracts, forecasting demand, and managing the fulfillment of supply. The GPS is responsible for leading a cross functional team to achieve cost, delivery and quality metrics, as well as supplier development. The roll requires an effective team leader and an experienced project manager. This individual will prepare and present during monthly commodity reviews with executive management. This position will require up to 5% international travel to support global initiatives.

  • Develop and execute of commodity strategies and ensuring their alignment with achievement of the company’s key results. Develop, enhance and nurture strategic supplier relationships with key suppliers; lead key supplier Business Review process, including, supplier performance feedback, metric review

  • Manage the day to day operations to achieve key results in support of the business; flexing resources, optimizing demand and releasing those aggregated requirements into the supply base. Manage this process on an ongoing basis seeking to reduce manual intervention.

  • Ensure the implementation of and adherence to, standard operating procedures to ensure superior levels of performance. Identifying potential areas of process improvement, recommend solutions, and drive improvement. Develops and maintains commodity-based reporting as necessary
